WOODBURY, N.Y. - A former aide to First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton has joined the board of directors of Delta Financial Corp.
Margaret Williams, 45, was Ms. Clinton's chief of staff from 1993 to 1997. Since then, she has worked as a communications consultant.
Delta has settled two predatory-lending lawsuits in the last eight months, one last summer with the New York State Attorney General's Office and the New York Banking Department and one in late March with the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. A class action against the subprime home lender is pending.
