In Brief: Fuji Unit Hires 2 for Asset-Backed Group

Heller Financial Inc., a unit of Fuji Bank Ltd., has expanded its asset-backed securities group.

The financial services company said it has hired Julia Landes from Harris Bank to be director of the company's asset-backed group and Rebecca Devine from Duff & Phelps to be director of investments.

Ms. Landes was a vice president responsible for credit analysis of asset-backed, nonagency mortgage-backed, and commercial mortgage-backed securities for the Chicago bank's investment management group. Before Harris, she had been a vice president at Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Co.

Ms. Devine had been an assistant vice president at the rating agency.

"The addition of these knowledgeable professionals underscores Heller's commitment to the ABS market," said Heller managing director Dick Rai.
