In Brief: GE Capital to Make 1st Argentine Purchase

GE Capital Corp. said Monday that it has agreed to buy the finance business assets of Financiaciones y Mandator SA, a Buenos Aires financial services company. The deal marks GE Capital's entry into the Argentine financing business.

GE Capital, a unit of General Electric Company, will acquire Financiaciones' offices, some receivables and its finance operating systems. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in July, subject to approval by the Argentine Central Bank.
