Genworth Financial, a Richmond, Va., insurer, has announced the appointment of Gurinder Ahluwalia as president of its independent broker-dealer channel and promoted three other executives.
Greg Long was promoted to national sales manager, the company said on Monday, and Tim Gillis and Gary Hensley were named divisional vice presidents.
Mr. Ahluwalia joined GE Financial Assurance in 1997 and in 2004 became president and chief executive officer of Genworth's private asset business, a role he will retain.
Mr. Long is a 21-year insurance industry veteran with Life of Virginia, GE Financial Assurance, and Genworth.
Mr. Hensley was promoted to divisional vice president for the West; he had been for six years the regional vice president of the independent broker-dealer channel covering Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, and New Mexico. Mr. Gillis is now the divisional vice president for the East; he had been the channel's regional vice president in Florida for five years.
