Nearly half of Americans are unaware that bank trust departments offer investment services, according to a survey released Monday by GlobalBridge Inc., a nationwide provider of separately managed account programs.
GlobalBridge, which offers its product through private banks and bank trust departments, said it found that 47% of 2,500 people questioned were unaware that bank trust departments offer investment services.
Kelly Coughlin, the president, chairman, and chief executive officer of GlobalBridge in Minneapolis, said this surprised him because 70% to 80% of the banks his company works with have changed, or are changing, their focus to wealth management and are actively marketing these services.
