Great Southern Bank of Springfield, Mo., announced Friday that it would acquire three central Missouri branches from Peoples Bank of the Ozarks in Nixa, Mo., for an undisclosed price.
The branches, with about $36 million of deposits, are close to those of Great Southern, which has $1.9 billion of assets.
James E. Huff, Peoples' president and chief executive officer, said the sale would help his $280 million-asset bank focus on growth in its main market, southwest Missouri, where it has nine branches.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
