John Hancock Life Insurance Co. said Tuesday that it had hired Harold K. Mosher, who has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry, most recently as regional director of agencies for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., to be its executive vice president of agency development and sales.

Mr. Mosher is to oversee agency development and sales, agency finance, and recruiting, the Boston subsidiary of Manulife Financial Corp. said in a press release. He is expected to expand the career agency system.
Hancock offers estate planning, retirement planning, college savings, business succession, life and long-term-care insurance, and investment diversification.
