In Brief: Hancock Revamps Term-Life Portfolio

BOSTON — John Hancock Life Insurance Co. has streamlined and redesigned the term life portfolio that it sells through all its intermediaries.

The revamped Signature Term Series offers its intermediaries, which include agents, banks, brokerages, and financial planners, one complete portfolio of premium-level term life products. Hancock had previously offered multiple lines of term life insurance for each of its distribution arms.

The products feature more liberal underwriting, with Super Preferred and Preferred risk classes that permit a controlled history of elevated blood pressure and cholesterol. The expanded risk classes will enable clients to obtain coverage faster and more conveniently, the company said.
