Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has promoted Kevin Kirk to vice president and director of national sales for its retirement plans group.

Mr. Kirk is to oversee sales of the Simsbury, Conn., company's 403(b) and 457 plans, in addition to 401(k) plans, it said Monday.
In his new role, he is to guide the strategic direction of Hartford's employer retirement plan sales organization. This includes all sales activities of more than 90 sales representatives in the corporate, health, and education/tax-exempt markets.
Mr. Kirk has worked at Hartford for more than 30 years, holding posts in the sales management and group pension areas.
