Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois has added products to its portfolio of consumer-directed health plans, the Chicago-based insurer said Monday.
The offerings are meant to give employers greater flexibility in how they can deliver on their health benefits strategy, the company said.
The new products include a program that lets employers reward employees for wellness activities such as taking physicals and other preventive services, a flexible spending account, a health savings account, and integrated prescription drug plans.
They also feature online health decision support and educational tools for employees to track and manage their health spending on a personalized, secure Web site.
