The chief investment officer of State Street Global Advisors has resigned, the asset management unit of Boston's State Street Corp. said Monday.
It was unclear why Alan Brown, who joined State Street in 1995, had resigned or what his plans are, according to a State Street spokeswoman. Mr. Brown and chief operating officer Peter Leahy had been named interim co-heads of State Street Global Advisors after its chief executive officer, Tim Harbert, died of a heart attack last August.
In keeping with its focus on global expansion, the spokeswoman said, State Street plans to revise the chief investment officer role to comprise three regional directors instead of an overall head.
The investment chiefs are to be Sean Flannery for North America and Rick Lacaille and Lochiel Crafter, retaining their current roles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, respectively.
Mark Lazberger, State Street's chief executive officer for Japan, is to get additional responsibility as head of State Street Global Advisors' international businesses.
