In Brief: Investor Web Unit Sets Up for Others

NEW YORK — Investorama.com, a Web site for novice investors, has established a unit to create and maintain private-label Web sites for financial services companies.

Deployant Solutions sets up and provides content for banking and brokerage sites. It charges a one-time fee and monthly licensing fees.

Managing director Jill Schwartz said that the service should appeal to midsize banks that want a sophisticated site but do not want to support it in-house.

Deployant can customize content on the Investorama site. For instance, a generic article on mutual funds could be tweaked to feature a client’s funds, Ms. Schwartz said. It will also arrange for third-party content, such as news or market data.

According to the company, its clients include Charles Schwab & Co. in San Francisco and Warburg Pincus Funds.
