A prominent consulting firm will provide almost-daily coverage of government-sponsored enterprises, such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the U.S. Postal Service, and Farmer Mac, through a newsletter delivered by e-mail and fax.
ISD/Shaw Inc. began the service in mid-December, and the firm's president, Karen Shaw Petrou, said the response from clients has been "astonishing."
Ms. Petrou said financial institutions, mortgage lenders, and the government-sponsored enterprises are among the subscribers.
"There's a broad consensus within a lot of different companies that they want to understand what it means to be a market participant with government benefits," Ms. Petrou said. "Our goal is objectivity. We're not trying to get them."
Recent issues have dealt with subjects such as new subprime products by Freddie Mac and new government regulations governing Fannie and Freddie.
