In Brief: Janus Consultant Relations Exec

Janus Capital Group Inc. said that it had hired Carolyn Patton to be the director of its global consultant relations.

Ms. Patton, who is based in the company's Denver headquarters, is responsible for building Janus Institutional's relationships with consultants, the company said on Thursday.

She previously was a managing director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management Ltd. in London, where she led the European consultant relations team. Before moving to London in 2003, she was an executive director on the Morgan Stanley unit's U.S. and Canadian consultant relations team.

Janus offers individual and institutional investors products including growth, core, value, and international equities and specialty fixed-income and mathematically risk-managed portfolios.

At Dec. 31, Janus and its subsidiaries managed about $25 billion of institutional assets for corporations, endowments, foundations, Taft-Hartley union plans, and public funds around the world.
