Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc., a New York investment banking and brokerage, said Monday that it had appointed Peter E. Roth chief executive officer of its asset management business.
Mr. Roth has been in charge of the company's insurance investment banking practice since July 2003. Under his direction it has worked on nearly 100 announced insurance industry transactions, totaling more than $30 billion of gross value. He also was elected to the board of directors, the company said Monday.
"Our goal is to develop a wide range of products that provide best-in-class returns," Mr. Roth said in a press release. "We're looking at opportunities in equity, debt, and private equity both here and abroad."
