It lost about $2.4 million in 2004 but only $1.6 million in 2005, it reported Wednesday. It was founded in August 2003.

The loss shrank largely because it booked more loans. It had $53 million of them at yearend, 176% more than a year earlier. As a result, assets increased by about 25%, to $94.7 million.
