Manulife-Sinochem Life Insurance Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Toronto-based Manulife Financial Corp., the world's fifth-largest life insurance company, opened its doors Thursday to business in Foshan - the fifth city in China where it now does business.
The recent permission to add group life and health and pension business to its product line in China puts Manulife-Sinochem in position to fully serve companies, families, and individuals, Marc Sterling, an executive vice president for Asia regional operations of the Canadian parent and chairman of Manulife-Sinochem, said in a press release.
Manulife-Sinochem had gotten approval last March from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission to open its Foshan sales office. A Dongguan sales office is to open in July.
