Manulife Financial Corp. in Toronto said Tuesday that it had closed a previously announced offering of $299.3 million of senior medium-term notes.

The notes were issued under a pricing supplement dated last Thursday to Manulife Financial's short-form, base shelf prospectus dated Feb. 9, 2005. The notes were offered through an agency syndicate comprising RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and Scotia Capital Inc.
The notes were not registered in the United States and may not be offered, sold, or delivered here.
Manulife Financial managed $319 billion of assets at Dec. 31.
