People are increasingly working well past traditional retirement age, according to a study released Monday by MetLife Inc., and some return to the work force after they retire, opting for paid and/or volunteer posts.
About 78% of the respondents 55 to 59 years old were working or looking for work, the study said, as were 60% of the 60- to 65-year-olds and 37% of the 66- to 70-year-olds.
In all three age groups, more than 10% had accepted retirement benefits from an employer, then chose to return to work or seek work.
