Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. has hired Gary F. Baker to fill the newly created post of head of strategic distribution in the company's savings product division.

Mr. Baker joins the division after 18 years at GE Financial companies, the insurer said on Monday, and will be responsible for leveraging new and existing distribution channels to help MassMutual strengthen its position in the retirement income market.
MassMutual's savings products division offers retirement-income products to help ensure that the assets of those approaching retirement last a lifetime.
