In Brief: MBNA Prices Offering Backed by Credit Cards

NEW YORK - A $473.75 million offering of credit-card-backed certificates from MBNA America Bank was priced in two parts.

Led by underwriter J.P. Morgan Securities Inc., the $455 million in senior certificates were priced at 99.27 to yield 6.725%, 39 basis points above the comparable Treasuries.

The $18.75 million in subordinated certificates were priced at 99.26 to yield 6.887%, 55 basis points above the Treasury's five-year note.

The certificates were sold through MBNA Master Trust Credit Card II, a special-purpose vehicle.

Delivery is scheduled for Aug. 30.
