Mellon Financial Corp. announced Tuesday that it had hired Mary E. Gooding to be a senior vice president and regional manager in its New England private banking business.
Ms. Gooding is to oversee the lending and deposit groups that manage relationships and develop business with wealthy families, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, and professional practices. Before joining Mellon, Ms. Gooding was the division executive heading up private banking at Citizens Bank in Providence, R.I. Previously, she had worked in the private banking group at Bank of Boston.
Mellon has more than $4 trillion of assets under management, administration, or custody, including $707 billion under management. Its asset management companies include Dreyfus Corp. and Newton Investment Management Ltd. in the United Kingdom.
