In Brief: Mellon Unit Appoints Investment Chief

Boston Co. Asset Management LLC, a unit of Mellon Financial Corp., said Thursday that it had named David Cameron chief investment officer.

Mr. Cameron has been the company's head of U.S. equities since November 2004. In his newly created role, he will remain in Boston and continue reporting to Corey Griffin, Boston Co.'s chairman and chief executive officer.

Boston Co. manages $60 billion of assets and specializes in fundamental equity management across all investment styles, both domestically and internationally. Mr. Cameron has worked for it since July 2003 when he moved from another Mellon subsidiary, Standish Mellon Asset Management.
