In Brief: Microsoft, NBC to Merge Money Web Sites

REDMOND, Wash. - Microsoft Corp. and NBC on Monday announced plans to combine Microsoft's MSN MoneyCentral Web site and NBC's CNBC.com into one comprehensive personal finance site on the Internet.

The new site, to be called CNBC MoneyCentral, will reach about 16 million visitors a month and be available through www.cnbc.com, www.moneycentral.com, or through the MSN group of Web sites, the companies said.

The two companies are to promote the site on the CNBC cable channel, which is viewed in 79 million homes daily, and on the MSN sites, which have about 230 million visitors a month. The site is expected to be started up this summer.
