In Brief: Montana Thrift Merger Slated to Close Today

Shareholders of Westerfed Financial Corp. and Billings-based Security Bancorp have approved the merger of the two thrift companies.

The transaction is slated to close today.

Under the transaction, $377.8 million-asset Security Bancorp, holding company for Security Bank, will be merged into $563.6 million-asset Westerfed, parent of Western Federal Savings Bank.
