In Brief: Mortgage Rates Lowest Since May '99

WASHINGTON - Mortgage rates fell this week to their lowest point since May 1999, averaging 7.17% for a 30-year fixed rate and 6.84% for a 15-year fixed, according to Freddie Mac's mortgage market survey.

One year adjustable rate mortgages fell to 7.02%.
