Nearly all investors have financial concerns about retirement, according to a study released Monday by the National Association for Variable Annuities.
The study found that 95% of the national cross-section of 1,001 people questioned by telephone from Jan. 21 to 23 had financial concerns for their retirement. And 42% expressed fear that they would run out of money or have to downgrade their lifestyle during retirement.
In addition to concerns about retirement income, 28% of those answering the questions feared that the high cost of health-care services would drain their retirement savings. Sixteen percent said they worry about a possible decline of Social Security payments, and 9% were concerned that inflation would erode their savings.
