In Brief: Nationwide Team to Write Big Policies

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nationwide Financial Services Inc. said Tuesday it has formed a large-case underwriting team to serve clients who need life insurance policies with more than $100,000 of premium or $10 million of death benefit.

John Fitzpatrick, who joined Nationwide this year to help build the team, has been named its director. He is working closely with the company’s sales and product management teams to underwrite and consult on large variable life cases for brokers and producers, Nationwide said.

Nationwide, with $111 billion of assets under management, offers annuities, life insurance, retirement plans, mutual funds, and other financial services for individuals and institutional clients. Its products are sold through independent financial planners, regional and national brokerages, banks, and agents.
