In Brief: Navy Federal's CEO to Retire at Yearend

Brian L. McDonnell, who has run Navy Federal Credit Union, the world's largest credit union, for the past nine years, will retire Dec. 31.

Navy Federal, of Merrifield, Va., had $21.9 billion of assets as of March 31. During Mr. McDonnell's time as the president and chief executive officer, its assets have increased 163%.

His retirement plan was announced Thursday.
