First Charter Corp. of Charlotte announced Tuesday that it will soon open its first full-service branch in Raleigh.
Bob James, First Charter's president and chief executive, said the move is consistent with the $4.5 billion-asset company's strategy of entering growing markets. It opened a loan production office in Raleigh in February.
The new branch - formerly leased by Wachovia Corp. - has four drive-through lanes in a complex including 7,200 square feet of office and retail space.
First Charter has 53 branches in western North Carolina and the Piedmont region; this will be its first in the eastern half of the state.
