In Brief: New Okla. Markets for RBC Holding

RCB Holding Co. of Claremore, Okla., near Tulsa, has a deal that would bring it into other Oklahoma markets.

The $710 million-asset multibank company said last Wednesday that it had agreed to buy the $311 million-asset Pioneer Bancshares Inc. of Ponca City.

The deal is expected to close in April. The price was not disclosed; the buyer and seller are both privately held.

Pioneer's two banks would initially operate as RCB subsidiaries under their current top executives. These include Carl Renfro, the chairman and chief executive of Pioneer Bank and Trust in Ponca City, in north-central Oklahoma; Tom Quillin, its president; and Terry Stradal, the president of Bank of Nichols Hills in Oklahoma City.

Ted A. McGuire, RCB's president and CEO, said it wants to keep expanding into other Oklahoma markets.
