In Brief: Northern Trust Gets Del. Pension Mandate

Northern Trust Corp. said Wednesday that it had been selected by the Delaware Public Employees' Retirement System to be custodian for $6.5 billion of assets.

The agreement takes effect July 1, including domestic and global custody and related services like cash management and securities lending.

The Delaware pension system consists of nine retirement plans and four commingled pension funds. It had 61,908 members, including 20,363 retirees and beneficiaries, at June 30, 2005.
