CHICAGO - Northern Trust Global Investments, the asset management unit of Northern Trust Corp., has hired Kevin Connellan of Schroder & Co. as director of equity trading, a newly created position.
Mr. Connellan, 54, has been an equity trader for 29 years. Eight were at Schroder, where he was director of institutional equities for the Midwest.
Earlier he was vice president of sales trading for New York's UBS Securities Inc.
He was also vice president and regional manager of institutional equity trading based in Chicago for Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., the New York-based investment banking firm.
Prior to that he was vice president of institutional equity trading for Blyth Eastman Dillon.
Mr. Connellan will help Northern Trust Global Investments continue its rapid expansion, said Jon Brorson, its director of equities.
