Dave Sedman was named manager of securities lending Monday for Northern Trust Co.'s Canadian unit.
In the new post, he is to manage securities lending activities for Northern Trust's recently established trading center in Toronto.
Mr. Sedman, 38, was director of global securities lending for CIBC Mellon Capital Markets in Toronto, where he managed and traded Canadian, U.S., and non-North American assets for Canadian securities lending clients.
The proposal is part of what SEC Chairman Paul Atkins calls his "Make IPOs Great Again" agenda.
