Northern Trust Corp. was named the best U.S. private banking company by Euromoney magazine in its annual rankings.
The Chicago company was named the best private bank for trust services; philanthropy; inheritance and succession planning; specialized services to corporate executives; and privacy, security, and user-friendly technology.
Northern Trust also was named the top provider of services to clients with $10 million to $30 million of net worth.
Euromoney polled 558 private clients in Septemeber and October. to assemble the rankings, which were released Wednesday.
Northern Trust has 84 offices in 18 states and has 13 international offices in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. It had $3.5 trillion of assets under custody and $697 billion of assets under management as of Dec. 31.
