Northern Trust Global Advisors, the manager-of-managers subsidiary of Northern Trust Corp. in Chicago, has hired Joseph McInerney to be chief operating officer, and it also said it had hired three research executives.
Mr. McInerney will report to William Huffman, the chief executive officer of Northern Trust Global Advisors, the company said on Monday.
Mr. Huffman said the post was created to accommodate growth in the manager-of-managers product line, including total plan outsourcing, emerging and minority managers, hedge fund strategies, and private equity.
Since 1996, assets under management by Northern Trust Global Advisors have grown from $6 billion to $27 billion, and the staff has grown from 48 employees to 85.
The unit also has hired three research professionals - Darren Kimsey, Nicole Neubelt, and Kaz Sikora. Mr. Kimsey was a co-director of U.S. equity manager research at Evaluation Associates, a pension consulting firm where he worked for 12 years.
Ms. Neubelt had spent eight years in the legal department at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she supported the manager-of-managers group as well as the hedge funds and offshore groups within Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
Mr. Sikora worked for nearly 10 years at Evaluation Associates, where he most recently was director of international equity manager research.
