New York Life Insurance Co. announced Monday that it had named Rick Madan the senior vice president of its agencies in the Northeast.

In his new post Mr. Madan is to oversee the recruitment, training, and development of managing partners and partners. He is responsible for the sales production and overall supervision of New York Life's offices in the region.
Mr. Madan joined the company in 1982 as an agent in the Empire State Building. He was promoted to managing partner of the Illinois general office, his previous post, in 1998.
