Pacific Life Insurance Co. said Thursday that it has begun offering owners of its variable annuity contracts and variable life insurance policies access to two portfolio options that use the American Funds Insurance Series of the nation's fastest-growing big mutual fund company.
The options are the growth and growth-and-income portfolios of the American Funds unit of Capital Research and Management Co. It also added the VN Small-Cap Value portfolio managed by Vaughan Nelson Investment Management LP.
"We are continually evaluating the premier managers in the U.S. to expand and improve our investment choices available to financial professionals and their clients," Kathleen Hunter, the vice president of marketing in the insurer's annuities and mutual funds division, said in a press release. The new options enhance the asset allocation choices available, she said.
In addition to the new portfolios, the Newport Beach, Calif., company added these portfolio managers to its Pacific Select Fund: Columbia Management Advisors Inc.-technology, Jennison Associates LLC-health sciences, and Neuberger Berman Management Inc.-Fasciano small equity.
