PlusFunds Group Inc. said Wednesday that it has appointed Yoshiro Okawa in Tokyo to represent the New York hedge fund company in the Japanese market.

Mr. Okawa extends PlusFunds' effort to find business opportunities in Japan. He is to present the concept of PlusFunds' S&P hedge fund index to banks and institutional investors and through retail channels.

He was the sales director and promoted 401(k) funds for Prudential Mitsui Trust ITM. Previously, he worked at Morgan Stanley Asset Management in Japan.
