SAN FRANCISCO Providian Financial Corp., has hired a third senior executive away from FleetBoston Financial Corp.s credit card unit: Susan Gleason, who became vice chairman of operations and systems at Providian on Jan. 17.
Ms. Gleason had managed operations at Fleet Credit Card Services for four years, spending most of them working for Joseph W. Saunders. Mr. Saunders left Fleet for the troubled monoline in November, becoming president and chief executive officer. Earlier this month, Providian hired former Fleet executive Warren Wilcox, a longtime associate of Mr. Saunders, as vice chairman for planning and marketing.
