Quicken.com already provides real-time insurance quotes in addition to other kinds of financial services and information.

The eHealthInsurance site provides a way to buy individual, family, and small-group major medical health insurance from an array of insurers.

It allows consumers to compare the benefits offered by various health plans and learn if their doctors participate.

The site is funded by Dell Computer Inc.; Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc. (Sprout Group); and Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners. The company is based in Sunnyvale, Calif.
