NEW YORK - UBS Warburg, the securities unit of the Swiss banking giant UBS AG, has hired Seth P. Ferguson and Eric A. Kaye as managing directors in its mergers-and-acquisitions advisory practice.
Mr. Ferguson and Mr. Kaye were global co-heads of M&A at Robertson Stephens. The San Francisco tech banking boutique, which is owned by FleetBoston Financial Corp., recently has been hit with a series of senior staff defections and a sharp decline in business.
The two will work out of San Francisco and focus on the technology sector. They report to Rick Leaman and Jimmy Neissa, co-heads of mergers and acquisitions for the Americas.
