In Brief: Sam’s Club Chain Selling Triton ATMs

LONG BEACH, Miss. — Sam’s Club, a members-only warehouse chain run by Wal-Mart Stores Inc., has begun selling automated teller machines.

It is stocking the machines in its stores and has included the item in a catalogue it sends to its 150,000 business customers. The ATMs are manufactured by Triton Systems Inc. and distributed by Access Cash International, an independent ATM distributor in St. Paul.

The ATMs can be bought directly at any of the 470 Sam’s Club stores or ordered through a toll-free number in the catalogue, which connects callers to a dedicated call center at Access Cash.

“We’ll arrange financing, schedule a shipment of ATMs, and arrange for installation technicians to meet the machines — we even provide training to employees,” said Michael Shackelford, Access Cash regional sales manager.

Featured in the Sam’s Club catalogue are Triton’s Model 9600, which Triton says has more off-premises placements than any other ATM in the industry, and Triton’s new Mako Low, another popular model designed for low-traffic environments delivery.”
