Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. said Tuesday that it has reduced the cost of online option trades for domestic retail investors.
As of April 1, investors that place 30 or more trades per quarter or that have household assets of more than $1 million are to pay $9.95 per trade, plus 95 cents per contract, down from $1.40 per contract, the San Francisco brokerage company said.
The price cuts add to Schwab's options offering for active traders, including option specialists to help customers, trading specialists available 24 hours a day-seven days a week, easier research and trading, and educational programs and tools.
