In Brief: State Street Adds Emerging Market ETFs

State Street Global Advisors, State Street Corp.'s investment management arm, launched six exchange-traded funds that focus on emerging markets.

The funds began trading on the American Stock Exchange on Friday, the Boston company said.

State Street's international ETF offerings now span developed and emerging economies.

The SDR S&P Emerging Markets ETF focuses on 1,500 companies in 26 emerging countries. The SPDR S&P Emerging Latin America ETF focuses on Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela.

The SPDR S&P Emerging Middle East and Africa ETF focuses on Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, and South Africa. The SPDR S&P Emerging Europe ETF focuses on countries that are nearing acceptance into the European Union, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, and Turkey.

The SPDR S&P Emerging Asia Pacific Fund focuses on China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand. The SPDR S&P China ETF focuses on 150 companies there.

State Street managed $109 billion of ETF assets as of Feb. 28.
