State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street Corp. in Boston, introduced six industry-specific exchange-traded funds on the American Stock Exchange Thursday.

It started the SPDR Metals and Mining, SPDR Pharmaceuticals, SPDR Oil and Gas Equipment and Services, SPDR Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, SPDR Retail, and StreetTracks KBW Regional Banking exchange-traded funds.
The global advisors unit had $90 billion of exchange-traded fund assets under management at March 31.
