The suit, filed in September, alleges that a subsidiary of the $4.4 billion-asset Gold charged higher loans and fees to borrowers with loans guaranteed by the Farm Service Agency. The class includes all customers who got such loans from January 1999 through February 2004.

Gold said Tuesday that it plans to appeal the class-action order.
