Sun Life Financial U.S. of Wellesley Hills, Mass., has hired Mary M. Fay as its vice president for annuities.

Ms. Fay's appointment was announced Wednesday. She is in charge of variable, equity index, and fixed annuity lines at the U.S. unit of Sun Life Financial Inc. of Toronto.
She reports to the unit's president, Robert C. Salipante.
Ms. Fay was a site president and a client relationship leader at GE Financial Assurance. She led customer initiatives for brokers, plan sponsors, employers, and providers for the General Electric Co. unit's group insurance business. Earlier she had held senior annuity leadership positions at Citigroup Inc. and Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.
