BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has teamed up with Little Rock, Ark.-based USAble Life Insurance and the Wakefield, Mass., consulting firm Edgewater Technology Inc. to develop a streamlined benefits administration system for employers who offer BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee health plans.

The system, which the companies expect to introduce in mid-2006, is to include work-site marketing; on-site member enrollment; member self-enrollment through the Internet; and multicarrier consolidated electronic billing, reconciliation, and payment, BlueCross said Thursday.
