In Brief: Tolleson Resigns from Bank One Board

Bank One Corp. of Chicago said late Wednesday that former First USA chairman, John C. Tolleson, resigned from the bank holding company's board.

Mr. Tolleson, 51, is chief executive officer of the Dallas-based Tolleson Group, a private investment firm, a post he's held since June 1997. He is also managing director of the private equity fund, Arena Capital Partners LLC.

Mr. Tolleson had been chairman and chief executive officer of First USA Inc. from 1985 to June 1997, which he co-founded. He is currently a board member with Juniper Financial and Capstead Mortgage Corp.

``We want to thank John for his service to the company and wish him well,'' said Bank One's chairman and chief executive officer, James Dimon, in a statement.

Bank One Corp. is the fifth-largest bank holding company in the U.S., with $273 billion of assets.
